Monday's Devotional

Good Morning Everyone,

Let's look at Philippians 2:15–16 kjv

"Be blameless and harmless … in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world, holding forth the word of life."

When we "shine as lights" in the world, the testimony of our personal holiness makes an impact on those around us. But the testimony of a righteous lifestyle is incomplete if there is no explanation to accompany it. I never have believed too much in the power of the "silent" witness. But when a godly life is accompanied by the presentation of the Word of Life, the effect can be dramatic.

The Word of Life is the total message of God’s Word. It not only brings life to those who are dead in their sins, but it also sustains life each day for the disciple who is nurtured by it. When we are told to "hold it forth," the word that is used is one that was often chosen to describe a host offering wine to a guest at a banquet. It is the picture of a gracious offer of the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who do not know Him.

Bro. Paul
