Wednesday's Devotional

Goode Morning Everyone,

Day 3 of Experiencing God and this paragraph caught my eye:

"We are a doing people.  We always want to be doing something.  Every now and then someone will exclaim, "Don't just stand there, do something!"

In contrast, I think God is crying out to us, "Don't just do something, stand there!  Enter a love relationship with Me.  Get to know Me.  Adjust your life to Me.  Let Me love you and reveal Myself through you to a watching world."  A Time will come when doing will be called for, but we cannot skip the relationship.  The relationship with God must come first.

Tuesday's Devotional

Good Morning Everyone,

Day two of Experiencing God and here is my key thought for the day, "The Holy Spirit and God's Word will instruct you and will help you know when and where God is working.  Once you know where He is active you will adjust your life to join Him in His activity."

Jesus is our model and is the key to Experiencing God. Jesus' example as seen in John 15 is:

1.  The Father has been working right up until now.

2. Now the Father has me working.

3.  I can do nothing on My own initiative.

4.  I watch to see what my Father is doing.

5.  I do what I see the Father doing.

6.  The Father loves Me.

7.  He shows Me everything He is doing.

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life."  Yesterday we learned that we cannot Experience God unless we have a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.  It was Jesus blood that was shed for our sins.  To Experience God, the Father will look to the Son (Jesus) to see if we are His.  You cannot come to the Father except through the Son, Jesus.

Monday's Devotional

Good Morning Everyone,

We began our "Experiencing God sessions last night.  As I began to work through the daily readings is was impressed especially by the first paragraph in Day One.  It says, "Jesus said, "This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent".(John 17: 3)  ... Real Christianity is not merely a religion; it is a relationship with a person.  It is an intimate love relationship with God.  Through this relationship God reveals His will and invites you to join Him where He is at work.  When you obey God, God accomplishes through you something only He can do.Then you come to know God in a more intimate way by experiencing Him at work through your life.  ... Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."  (John 10: 10)  Would you like to experience life to its fullest measure?  You can if you are willing to respond to God's invitation to an intimate love relationship with Him."

If you were unable to make it last night, it is not too late!  Come by the Church this week and get your copy of the Experiencing God workbook and begin the daily readings and then make plans to join us next Sunday night at 6:00.  I can guarantee that the devil does not want you to be a part of what God is doing here, but "greater is He that is in you than he that is in the World."  Don't let the devil win.

Friday's Devotional

Good Morning Everyone,

This past Sunday we had the opportunity to hear Norman Blackaby, Henry Blackaby's son.  Dr Blackaby introduced us to "Experiencing God".  We will be going through "Experiencing God" as a Church beginning this coming Sunday evening.  Workbooks are available, if you would like to make a donation to help with the cost of the workbooks, please mark your checK or offering envelope with Experiencing God.  One of the verses Dr. Blackaby shared with us this past Sunday morning was John 5: 17 "But Jesus answered them, "My Father is working until now, and I am working."  The first reality of Experiencing God is God is at work all around us, even right now.  If you would like to see Dr. Blackaby's entire sermon go to First Baptist Church Eustace Facebook page.

Starting Monday morning, my daily devotions will be following along with the workbook of "Experiencing God".  Please make every effort to be with us on Sunday evenings.  The Evening services will be in the gym around the tables.

Thursday's Devotional

Good Morning Everyone,

Let's look at Luke 14:23

"Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."

Purely as an illustration, suppose the Lord Jesus told you you’ve got one year left on earth. Do you think He would then tell you to spend your time stockpiling food? Hardly! I think He would say, "Friend, you’ve got one year left to go up and down the highways and the byways and the corridors of this land with the gospel of Jesus Christ, sharing Him as you never have before. Sell everything you’ve got to buy literature and get it to those who don’t know. Give everything you have so that by the time I come back at the end of this year, you will have touched every human being you could possibly touch with the message of Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory."

It’s not my task or purpose to make people feel guilty. Every one of us knows we could be doing a better job of telling other people about our Lord. I’m not talking about buttonholing people and being obnoxious. That’s not what we’re supposed to do. I’m just talking about starting every day by praying, "Lord, today I’m going to live for You. If You bring someone across my path who needs You, help me to sense it, and help me to do the right thing."

Bro. Paul
